Alva Wong graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Physical Health and Education. His education provided him with a strong foundation ranging from athletic conditioning and biomechanics to exercise physiology.
Throughout his life, Alva has been extensively involved in fitness and athletics in both the recreational and competitive levels. This has fostered his desire to help others attain higher levels of fitness and performance. He believes that these goals can be reached through a combination of hard work, desire and fun on the part of both the individual and the fitness professional.
In the past years of health and fitness there has been a big shift on how people train. Alva has adapted and designed new ways to train to gain that perfect health. The human body is meant to move through different actions and variations. He creates fun exercises that target multi-muscle movements to free you from your box of everyday actions.

Dave Cunning

Dave competed as competitive hockey player from the age of 5; including playing as a professional for one season in Europe, 4 seasons of college hockey in Saskatchewan for Briercrest College in the ACAC, and a season of junior hockey for the Creston Thundercats of the KIJHL. He’s also previously coached with Okanagan College of the BCIHL, and currently coaches with Okanagan Hockey School, and the Hockey Canada Skills Academy. Dave’s passion for playing translated into that for training others, stemming from his own training days as a player. Hockey training taught him the dedication and drive that is necessary to make physical improvements, as well as the value of motivation; having someone with you in the gym to push you to lift those extra two reps, challenge you to throw that extra 5 lbs on the bar, and keep you actually coming to the gym regularly is often the difference between improving and not. Working with someone educated in the field of fitness affords you the ability to train smarter, and will undoubtedly get you where you want to go, faster. As a certified BCRPA Personal Trainer, Dave hopes to be able to inspire and push you to reach and/or exceed your own personal training goals, and maximize your potential within your unique field of performance – whether you are training for a sport, or other fitness aims. Chris Burton

Chris began his career in the health and fitness industry 13 years ago, working as a personal trainer in the greater Toronto area before re-locating to Calgary, where he completed his Kinesiology degree in 2003. Since then, Chris has achieved certifications through the CHEK Institute, the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology, and numerous other organizations, to continually improve his knowledge and skill set. The last 8 years have seen Chris in the field of corrective and therapeutic exercise, focusing primarily on clients who are recovering from workplace and motor vehicle accidents.
Chris’ training and experience have given him the ability to properly assess a client and prescribe exercises that take into account body mechanics and physiological load in order to see rapid improvements in performance, as well as to achieve durability and long-term health benefits.
Chris’ own passion for health and fitness combined with his professional background allows him the versatility to successfully and safely work with clients of varied abilities and goals – from healthy individuals looking to improve their fitness level and appearance, to those recovering from serious physical injury.

Amber has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years, and has been a personal trainer for the past 6 years. She has worked with a variety of clientele, including post rehabilitation, pre and post natal, first time exercises and athletes that need that extra push and motivation to achieve their goals. Amber has a strong passion for fitness, and loves helping clients develop that same desire to be the best they can be.
Between working as a personal trainer and being a full time university student, Amber understands that at times it can be difficult to find the energy to exercise. However, it is these times that exercising is so important as it provides us with the energy and peace of mind that our bodies need. While studying Biochemistry, I participated in collegiate baseball at Washington State University, and Central Arizona College.

I have worked with the public as well as athletes ranging from entry level to the elite and spent time designing training methods to achieve their specific goals. Spending the last 6 years as an elite skier has given me a wealth of experience in sport training and the latest methods in developing peak performance.

After being at the gym for the last 12 years I found myself uninterested and bored. My fitness level had declined due to a combination of poor diet and little exercise. I found that I did not have the motivation to get to the gym so I decided to try having regular sessions with a personal trainer. Angelique has been my personal trainer for the last five months. However, within that short time period I have formed the opinion that Angelique is an excellent trainer.
It is apparent that Angelique enjoys what she does and this comes across in our appointments. I have found her to be very knowledgeable in all aspects of health and fitness.
